Interview - MBA

Master of Business Administration or MBA is one of the most popular management degrees that not only enhances your career prospects but also prepares you to face different situations related to your line of profession more tactfully. Long gone are the days when MBA used be just another management program, in today's world if you are looking for success faster and in the most efficient way then an MBA is a must.

The unquestionable fact that successful management fundamentals are an essential factor for success in any line of work is definitely the motivation that drives most individuals to pursue this management course. Be it engineers, dentists, artists, entrepreneurs or individuals from just about any profession, everyone is availing the course today as it provides you with a wide range of specializations. With these specializations MBA has evolved to be a degree of choice for bright, talented individuals who want to add that all important feather to their cap.

No doubt, perseverance, dedication, and good grades are required to qualify for a reputed business school, but remember these alone are not enough as there are few more criteria that you need to fulfill in order to be a part of this elite class. These criteria include cracking the interview. MBA programs are increasingly utilizing the interview as an important factors in the admissions process. Although the MBA interview procedures and stages differ from institution to institution, but there are three major levels which you will find no matter whichever college you are applying to. These three levels are:

* Written test: clearing the written test for the best MBA institutes is quite a task. People usually start preparing themselves for the written test well ahead of their interview date to increase the possibility to crack the MBA test.
* Personal interview: MBA Interviewers form an impression of the candidate in the initial few minutes of the meeting, and spend the rest of the interview substantiating the impression that they had initially developed.
* Group discussion: after having crossed the first two stages, which are probably the most difficult stages of any interview, MBA dreams can go up in smoke if you're insufficiently prepared for the group discussion. A group discussion also known as GD is a virtual exercise, where you are unlikely to put up a show all of a sudden, as the interviewer can easily see through you, therefore you cannot pretend to be someone you are not. So it is very important to prepare yourself for the GD round by keeping yourself updated about everything and growing your knowledge base as much as possible. GD topics can be anything and hence you need to be prepared for it.

Now let's take a quick look at the questions that are likely to be asked in an MBA interview. I did some research on the same and found the below mentioned sample MBA interview questions to be quite helpful:

* Why do you want to opt for MBA and why now?
* Discuss your career progression.
* What would you do if you don't get through?
* What are your short term and long term goals and why?
* Discuss yourself.
* How would your colleagues describe you?
* How would you define success?
* Would you like to ask us anything?

Remember, the questions vary significantly depending on the business school you are applying to. However, the abovementioned questions are just to give you an idea about what your interviewer may ask you. Therefore, prepare yourself accordingly and leave no stone unturned to ensure your admission to a reputed MBA institute. Good Luck!
