MBA Admissions Essay

Learn more about MBA Admission Essays and get admitted to the school of your dreams.

There are a variety of essay questions that you will find on your business school MBA ADMISSSIONS ESSAY. You must prepare yourself to answer whatever comes your way. One way to do this is to compile a list of your attributes, school accomplishments and any dilemmas you may have encountered. These issues could have taken place in the workplace or in your private life. What is most important is how you coped with them. Problems of this nature can often lead to a discussion of ethics. Sometimes you will find yourself involved with a strictly ethical dilemma. How you dealt with it may be one of the essays you will be required to write.

One of the basic problems of a dilemma is that there is no right or wrong solution. Your choices in how to solve an ethics problem will not be clear cut. Sometimes you must choose the lesser of two evils, as the saying goes. This type of question comes up at every interview and the answers you provide are very telling. No one can tell you how to answer an ethics question. The influences in your life have provided you with your ethics. These are acquired as we grow up and are put into action when we need them.

The MBA Admissions Essay can delve into your ethics when they incorporate a question about dilemmas. If you have this as your essay, take a moment to review your own encounters. Has there ever been a time when you have been asked to perform a task that you felt was unethical? What would the consequences have been to you? Could you have lost a promotion or been fired? Sometimes people relay a story or event in confidence without realizing the situation it puts you in. You must decide what course of action to take. If you tell the person or company representative what you have learned, will you harm or help?

All of the above questions constitute real ethical dilemmas. You may have had more than one issue that you have had to deal with. Deciding which event to include in your essay is where you will begin. Remembering the situation, the details that placed you in the position and what kind of demands were made of you must all be thought out before you start. The MBA Admissions Essay should then include the process you used to come to a decision; what the benefits were to solving your dilemma the way you did or if the plan you administered went awry.

You may not be asked on the Mba Admission to explain what you did to solve the issue, but you should be ready. You could be asked to critique your own resolution, whether you felt you provided an ethical solution or didn't address a solution at all. Gaining acceptance to the business school enlists a myriad of information. Preparing yourself to write a genuinely interesting and creative essay is just one step in the process.
