A university education leads you to your future. After you complete the undergraduate studies in business you can move on to MBA. There is a right time to apply to an MBA school, but are you at that point? Do you have the experience you need? Students who have completed college tend to join a business firm to gain experience by starting at a lower salary and working up to managing projects. After a few years you should have an idea of your career goals. This is what will lead you to your MBA Application.

MBA schools require 1 to 3 years of experience in business outside of a college setting. You will need to target the correct schools depending on your level of experience. As long as your MBA Application essay has the following five points you should also have no trouble getting accepted with your MBA Application. The recommendations you have earned will also need to explore these five features:

Practical reasons for applying

Outstanding growth professionally

Leadership, achievement, and impact

Sophistication

Able to socially and academically interact within the MBA program.

Your MBA Application will have to reflect all five of these factors within the essay and recommendations in order to be accepted. To show the selection committee that you are indeed ready for business school you need to have very good reasons for applying. You may have the recommended amount of work experience, which will help you solidify your reasoning. The selection committee will be looking for positive plans. Students who are obtaining more education because the economy is suffering will not have a positive answer for their application. Instead this will be reactive. Your goals are going to tell you exactly why you need to get your MBA now rather than wait a little longer, especially if you do not have the recommended working experience.

Your essay and application must reflect your ability to grow professionally. If you have been working in the business industry for two years but have a learning curve of what is typically found after four years, you are certainly going to have the professional growth needed to obtain a positive response to your MBA Application.

Factor three of the application states you must have leadership, achievement, and impact on your place of work. By showing the committee that you can be cross functional, implement organization that works and eliminate redundancy, you are proving impact. Leadership skills are more than being the lead in a team. It is about coming up with answers to problems, providing the perfect team for the solution, and working with others. Achievement is not completely based on monetary increase within a company, but also proving victory on a project.

The other two factors will show through your writing style, your ability to respond in the interview and interact with other candidates. Your MBA Application is more than just the first step in obtaining your goals. It is providing an open book to your determination to see your goals through.
