Learn more about Recommendation Letter For MBA and get admitted to the school of your dreams.
Your MBA Reference Letters are an important part of your application process. It is important that you choose the right people to write your MBA Reference Letters. Your school will not tell you who must write the letters, so the choice is completely up to you and you need to choose carefully. Good selections are important to ensure that your letters serve their purpose.
There are many ways you can go about choosing people to write your MBA Reference Letters, but one of the most important points to keep in mind is that you need to choose people who know you. The whole point of these recommendation letters is to tell more about you. You can not expect someone who barely knows you to be able to write an effective letter about you.
Many times students try to get people with impressive job titles to write their recommendations, but this often fails because it is not about the name, but about what they have to say. Your company's CEO may seem like a great choice, but if you barely know him then he will have little to say about you. Besides this, the school doesn't really care about the title someone holds anyway.
You should put a lot of thought into finding people who can talk about different qualities you have. You should choose one or two people who know you professionally. This person can talk about your professional qualities and your work ethics. The other people you choose can shed light on who you are personally and your personality traits. You want each letter to talk about a unique quality of yours. You want to avoid having all the letters talk about the same thing. Strive for diversity in your letters so you show a well rounded picture of yourself through them.
The whole goal of these letters is to explain about your leadership potential and to demonstrate the qualities you have that make you a good leader. It is imperative that you plan a little before asking anyone to write a letter. Make sure you understand what your goal is in having them write the letter. Provide each person with a good idea of what you need the letter to say -- do not tell them what to say, but make sure they understand this is a recommendation letter.
Also try to figure out what exactly each person would say. Choose people who know you in different situations. For example, your pastor at church would know you in a different way than your best friend knows you. This will help you to avoid redundancy in the letters and ensure that you choose people who are going to write about different aspects of your personality and your different qualities.
Making good choices about will write your letters of recommendation is very important. If you have the wrong people write your letters then they could end up being worthless. Consider choosing the people to write your letters as on of the first major leadership moves you have to make. Show good judgment and demonstrate that you know what to do to get the result you desire.
